Audition Notice

The Williamsburg Showcase Dinner Theater
Is looking for talented, energetic singers and dancers for their next season(s).

What is the Showcase Dinner Theater?
We produce shows that are musical reviews of mostly “oldies”-type music. All song and dance numbers may be solos or group numbers, just song or both song and dance. The customer comes in for cocktails, are seated in a reserved place at a table in the theater, are served dinner (a four-course meal by Catering by Kelly’s), and get to enjoy a fun, high-energy, song-and-dance show.

What does the job of “performer” involve?
As a performer, you are also a waiter/waitress. You have a section just like any other restaurant and are responsible for food and drink in your section. Therefore, you must be 18 years of age or older. Of course, you are also required to learn and memorize songs and dances with blocking and staging as a performer. Each show is usually rehearsed for two to three weeks before it opens and each performer is absolutely required to be at every single rehearsal and performance we have.

Is this a paid position?
YES. You get an hourly waiting wage as well as tips. Paychecks come weekly. This is a professional gig. Rehearsals are not paid and costumes are your own expense. You will be a contracted employee.

What do I need to audition?
Be prepared to sing one ballad and one up-tempo song of your choice a capella. If you are also a dancer, bring one short piece with music that best shows off your abilities. You must be 18 or older.

When can I audition?
Auditions are by appointment and can be made by e-mailing the writer/director/producer/general manager, Dominic Fortuna, at dominicentertainment@yahoo.com.
